A little more ease
Good to know.
Open a question to find the practical details that help a class feel calm, clear and ready to begin.
Getting started
Can my child try a class before we commit?
How do we choose the right class?
Our Classes page describes each discipline and the ages it suits, and the Timetable shows what runs where, with prices next to each class. If you are unsure, contact us and we will help you find the right fit.
What ages do you teach?
Classes run for ages 2.5 and up, right through to adult. Beginners, returning dancers and experienced pupils all have a place here.
Fees, places and payments
How much are classes and how do we pay?
Class fees, payment arrangements and availability vary by term and programme. Current prices are listed beside each class on the Timetable page, and the amount payable and the terms that apply to your child's place are set out in the booking information. Please check it carefully before confirming a place and keep a record of your booking and payment confirmation.
What if my child misses a class, or we need to cancel or change classes?
Please contact us directly and we will talk it through with you, along with the current withdrawal and cancellation arrangements in our terms and conditions.
Do you offer sibling discounts?
Please contact us and we will let you know what applies.
In class
What should my child wear and bring?
Students wear the official Viv'Art uniform. Uniform helps create a sense of identity and belonging, brings unity to the studio, and lets teachers see alignment and posture clearly. Hair should be tidy and secured appropriately for the discipline, and jewellery or anything unsafe during movement should be left at home. A labelled water bottle is welcome. If you are unsure what is needed for a particular class, please ask your teacher.
What are the arrival, drop-off and collection arrangements?
Please arrive in good time so your child can enter the studio calmly and be ready from the beginning of class. Parents and carers remain responsible for their child before and after the class unless a member of staff has specifically taken responsibility for them. Do make sure you know the exact studio and location before setting off, collect your child promptly, and contact us straight away if you are delayed. For younger children, please make sure a parent or carer is available to accompany them as needed, and tell us in advance about any specific collection arrangements we should know about.
How important is regular attendance?
Regular attendance helps children build confidence, develop technique, remember choreography and feel part of the group, and it matters especially when a class is preparing for a performance or assessment. If your child will be absent, please let us know as early as possible, and keep your contact details up to date so we can reach you.
Is there anything we should tell you about our child?
Yes, please. Tell us about any access, learning, communication, sensory, physical or wellbeing needs that may affect your child's participation — sharing this early gives our team the best chance to understand your child and consider appropriate support. Please also tell us about injuries or health considerations, and speak to your teacher or the office if your child needs a reasonable adjustment to take part fully.
How do we support our child's progress at home?
Celebrate effort, curiosity and progress rather than achievement alone. Ask what they enjoyed, discovered or found challenging, encourage regular attendance and a positive attitude, and let teachers know about any change in confidence or wellbeing. Children develop at different rates and progress is not always linear — confidence, creativity, expression and enjoyment matter just as much as technique.
Safety and community
What are the studio expectations?
A positive studio culture is central to Viv'Art. Everyone — dancers, teachers, staff and families — should be treated with kindness and respect: listen to teachers, treat other dancers kindly, respect personal space and boundaries, use appropriate language, and take care of the studio, equipment and other people's belongings. Please speak to us if a concern arises rather than letting it affect the wider class community.
How do you keep children safe?
The safety and wellbeing of children and young people always comes first. Please make sure we hold accurate, current emergency contact information and that we are told about any relevant needs or circumstances. Follow staff instructions during any emergency, tell a member of staff about accidents or incidents as soon as possible, and please do not send a child to class if they are unwell or unable to take part safely. Our full safeguarding, first-aid and emergency procedures are available on request.
Photography, privacy and locations
What are the rules on photography and filming?
Photography and filming should always be handled respectfully and in line with the permissions and guidance we issue. Please respect the privacy of other children and families, never photograph or film another child without appropriate permission, and follow any instructions given by staff during classes, showcases, performances and events.
Where are classes held?
Classes run at more than one location, so please check your child's booking and timetable carefully before setting off and allow enough time for travel, parking and getting your child into the building. Current addresses are shown with the relevant classes on our Timetable page.
